Freeway in Fort Worth. The workshop, hosted by the Texas Association of School Boards, will provide interested community members and individuals thinking about running for the board with a better understanding of what is involved in being elected and serving as a local trustee, according to spokeswoman Tanya Barnett. Topics to be covered include what it's like to be a trustee, key responsibilities of the board, division of authority with staff, how to campaign constructively and where to find more information. Participants will also view “A Call to Service,” a Texas Association of School Boards' video highlighting many aspects of board service and featuring several experienced school trustees, Barnett said. If bags are not out in time, they will not be picked up until the following collection period. Bags must be approved lawn collection bags.
