By admin at Sat, 2006-02-18 11:28 Next week, religious leaders are invited to learn more about Medicare prescription drug coverage so as to help people in their congregations. Often referred to as Medicare Rx, the drug plan has been confusing for seniors. To help, AARP Delaware has partnered with Delaware's faith community to set up two forums for religious leaders. The first forum will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sheraton Dover Hotel, Venetian Ballroom, U.S. 13, Dover. A second forum will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hotel DuPont, on Wilmington's Rodney Square. The meeting will be in the DuBarry Room. At the forums, there will be panelists from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Social Security Administration, ElderInfo, the Medicare Rx Access Network of Delaware and AARP Delaware. Forum organizers suggest that faith communities send someone who is able to attend future training and is willing to work with people within a congregation. Call 498-6508 on Monday if your community is interested in attending. Recently back from their trip to the White House to sing for the First Lady, choristers from the Cathedral Choir School of Delaware will be featured in a Choral Evensong at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral Church of St. John. This concert is free. The choir school has been recognized as one of the best after-school cultural enrichment programs in the nation. On Sunday and Monday, the cathedral is hosting Anglican musicians from five states. About 80 people are expected to attend, many coming to hear Donna Walker-Kuhne on Sunday evening. She's been called one of the foremost experts in audience development by the American Arts & Business Council. She has served as the Public Theater's national coordinator for community outreach and director of marketing for the Dance Theater of Harlem. The cathedral is at Concord Avenue and Market Street, Wilmington. 654-6279. Contact Gary Soulsman at 324-2893 or gsoulsman@delawareonline.com . This is cache, read story here |
